The October 2026 Almanac follows the changes taking place in the British countryside as autumn moves towards Samhain and the end of the month. Inside you’ll find British wildlife and natural history, traditional customs, folklore, seasonal food and things to make, brought together in an illustrated monthly guide.

This month's Almanac includes October fungi, birds, mammals and hedgerow plants, with features on species including the hedgehog, bat, fieldfare, orb-weaver spider, ladybird, honey fungus and puffball, alongside heather, bell heather, blackthorn and hawthorn.
