Description

A monthly ritual of slow, seasonal living

The June Almanac arrives at the longest light of the year.

Inside every almanac box:

Inside: a 32-page illustrated zine on the folklore of Midsummer — the bonfires, the plants gathered on St John’s Eve, the old customs of the solstice and what survived them. Two original signed art prints. A summer tea blend. A wild rose lip balm. A wooden badger totem. A moon phase calendar for June.
Everything in this box belongs to this specific moment in the British year.

Two art prints

Both prints are original works, signed by Emma. Each measures A5.
The first is a blackbird on a fence — a view from near the studio in East Cornwall, rendered in oil on paper in a bold, stylised manner that sits between natural history and folk art. The blackbird in British tradition is a bird of summer, singing at dawn and dusk, the between-times. A print of an original oil painting.
The second depicts a nightingale among roses, painted in watercolour and gouache, inspired by the old Cornish folk song Sweet Nightingale. Warm, detailed, painted by hand.

Also inside

The June Almanac zine — 32 pages on the folklore, plant lore, creatures and customs of the Midsummer season. Written and illustrated by Emma. Printed on recycled paper stock.

Summer tea blend — Pai Mu Tan white tea with rose petals. One of the least processed teas in the world, grown in the mountains of Fujian province. With rose, in June, it tastes like the season smells. One sachet, enough for two to three cups.

Wild English rose lip balm — 10ml, made in Cornwall.

Wooden badger totem — part of the Hedgerow & Moor collectible animal series. Cut from sustainably sourced wood, hand-finished.

Moon phase calendar — A4, showing the full lunar cycle for June with key seasonal dates marked.

A welcome letter from Emma.
